| Introduction | |
| Welcome to the website for a brand new event in the South of England, THE TEMPEST RALLYSPRINT 2005 being held at Bramley Camp, near Basingstoke on Sunday 21st August 2005. | |
| This was the first event of this kind in which individual drivers (no Co-Driver or passenger) drove over a pre-set course laid out in a similar way to a rally stage and heralded a number of firsts: | |

| Report | |
| The weather dawned bright and sunny for the first ever Tempest rallysprint as crews, Marshals and officials signed on to an event run to trial both the support for the Rallysprint concept and to see if the Bramley venue was suitable for Motorsport. | ![]() |
As the marshals were placed out on the course, there were lots of happy faces with marshals saying this is going to be spectacular and we are going to be busy! The Course map can be viewed by clicking on the link to the left |

| After the 2 convoy runs, which are familiar to the sprinting folks but a rare luxury for most of the rally drivers, there were a few worried faces in the rally cars as well. especially since for most this was the first "Rally" where drivers did not have a co-driver to hold their hand & tell them where to go! | ![]() |
| At the drivers briefing, drivers were warned that unlike a rally, there was no award for heroics on the practice runs, and for once drivers seemed to take notice. | ![]() |
| The first runs were taken at a steady pace which intensified as the day moved on and people found out who was beating them. It was especially noticable that dual entered cars worked very hard: there is no hiding place for "the other driver" in the same car, same tyres, same course, same day, same route! - all the old excuses gone. | ![]() |
At the end of the day, Will Nichols took FTD by 5 seconds from Ian Gwynne with Martyn England in Third. Results can be viewed by clicking on the link to the left. |

| Overall the day was deemed to be a total success with drivers promising to return to next years event | ![]() |
| As usual thanks to all the marshals without whose help events cannot run. | ![]() |
