Welcome to the home page for the 7th Abingdon Motorsport CAR-nival Autotests, which will once again make the most of the large available space, and our format of virtually non-stop action ensuring competitors get a full days motorsport.
As last year, in addition to the National B autotest, we will be running Clubsport events alongside the main event. As last year, we will not only be running a Production Car Autotest but also a Clubsport Autotest. For those of you who don't know, this means that you can compete without a competition license, so you can bring along your friends, spouses and offspring to try their hands at autotesting with minimal outlay.
As is always the case, a good number of marshals will help the event to run smoothly, so please encourage your friends to come along to support you.
As a part of The Abingdon Motorsport CAR-nival Weekend (which has raised over £65,000 in 6 years), a large element of the event is based around raising money for The Army Benevolent Fund (Charity No 211645) & The Stowford House Rehabilitation Centre (Charity No 243837). Because of this, you will note that we ask you to make a ‘separate contribution’ towards the charitable part of the event rather than simply incorporating it into the entry fee. We will accept this element on a separate cheque (Sponsors should note that charitable donations may be tax deductible!). Whilst this may be paid separately, it is a MANDATORY part of the entry package. In addition to your direct contributions, we also donate a large proportion of any profits made from the event towards the charities.
The CAR-nival weekend also features Stage Rallying, Off-Road Driving, Autotest and Grass Driving Tests and a large Beer Tent & BBQ. Anyone wishing to stay for the weekend is welcome although you must appreciate that the facilities are ‘as a farmers field’. Camping and caravans are free of charge. Anyone wishing to stay locally will find adequate accommodation at a number of Travel Lodges and Travel Inns all within easy reach of the venue (early booking is recommended for either The Apple Cart (Travel Inn – Didcot) or the Travel Lodge (Pear Tree Interchange - Oxford).
